Salar de Uyuni (Salt Flats of Bolivia)

An infinite blanket of white crystals extended as far as the eye could see in every direction. We stopped in the middle of the massive ocean of blinding salt and exited the SUV. Because the landscape is so flat, uniform and consistent, it provides the perfect backdrop for unique perspective photos.

After exiting the vehicles, it did not take long for the sounds of “backup, tilt left, drop your hands…more…a little more…” to fill the salty air. Spread out around the flats, the cameramen continued to tweak the angle of the camera while keeping the model informed on the progress. Certain perspective shots were quick and easy; whereas, other required more time, patience and skill.

Unfortunately, a severe windstorm rolled in before our scheduled session was slated to end so the photo-shoot was shortened. Oh well. You have an impact on certain aspects while traveling…weather is definitely not one.
